RM’s Equine Law Practice Group provides comprehensive legal services to clients in the equine industry. There is a focus on the business as well as the legal needs of clients in the industry, including the purchase, sale or leasing of horses, equestrian businesses and farms; training and boarding agreements and disputes; stallion syndications; breeding agreements and disputes; banking and finance specific to equine assets; equine business entity formation; equine insurance and tax matters; gaming; employment and business contracts; licensing and permitting; title insurance and zoning and land use issues.

Equine Law Practice Group Leader, David A. McKibbin, has handled some of the more prominent transactions in the equine industry, including what is believed to be the highest priced sale of a thoroughbred stallion in the U.S. in 2009. He has a thorough understanding of the many subtle issues and nuances unique to the equine world which must be understood and considered when providing legal services to the equine community. He has developed a national reputation in this field by providing quality legal representation to well known breeding and stallion farms in Florida, Kentucky and New York; racing stables; jockeys; national racing and auction organization such as Breeders’ Cup Ltd. and Fasig-Tipton, Inc.; banks specializing in equine lending; and polo team owners. He has been instrumental in the successful development of numerous thoroughbred farms, polo facilities, as well as equestrian-themed residential communities. Other members of the Equine Law Practice Group include Mark Nowak, who concentrates his practice in the areas of taxation and trusts and estates, and Stanley Klett, who is Board Certified in Business Litigation.

Our Wills, Trusts & Probate Practice Group provides an extensive range of estate planning, estate administration, tax, wealth preservation and business succession planning services.

Our Estate Planning attorneys are committed to implementing individualized estate planning documents for each client that are specific to his or her goals and objectives. We provide various documents to accomplish those objectives, including Advance Directives, Charitable Trusts, Complex Wills, Declarations of Domicile, Health Care Surrogates, Irrevocable Trusts, Living Wills, Powers of Attorney, Pour Over Wills, Private Foundations, Prenuptial Agreements, Postnuptial Agreements, Qualified Personal Residence Trusts and Revocable Trusts, including complex Trusts.

RM's Probate attorneys represent both individual and corporate executors, providing guidance through the trust and estate administration process. The Insurance Defense Practice Group, headed by Julia A. RM offers legal representation to institutional lenders, as well as other purchasers and sellers pertaining to residential and commercial real estate transactions, litigation, and enforcement of creditor rights. The Firm provides title insurance through Old Republic National Title Insurance Company.

The Real Estate Practice Group has three real estate paralegals who are very experienced in servicing our real estate client needs in real estate residential and commercial closings and preparation of all documentation including complex commercial financing transactions.

The Taxation Practice Group assists clients with a broad spectrum of issues involving federal and state taxation including individual, fiduciary, and corporate income tax, local property tax issues, sales and use taxes, real estate transfer taxes and representation with the IRS with respect to all tax matters and claims.

We provide general tax advice to clients relating to personal and business transactions and assist with tax and business planning, which may include working with a client's accountants and tax return preparers.

Our Taxation Practice Group includes Group Leaders Mark L. Nowak and Charles E. Rutherford.
