John R. Banister, Esq. was born in Kansas City, Missouri, on May 18, 1955. His practice areas include Corporate Law, Real Estate, general Commercial, Civil and Probate Litigation, Mortgage Law, Guardianship and Estate Administration.

John was admitted to The Florida Bar and the U.S. District Court, Southern District of Florida, in 1980. He graduated from Saint Andrews (1973), Florida State University (B.S., 1977, with honors, Beta Gamma Sigma), Oxford University - International Law (1978), and Nova Southeastern University (J.D., 1980).

He is a member of the American Bar Association (Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section), Florida Bar Association (Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section), Florida Realtor/Attorney Committee (Chairman-Elect, 2008; FAR/BAR Contract Subcommittee), Executive Council-Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section, Circuit Representative (15th Judicial Circuit), Probate and Guardianship Rules Committee (past member), and Chairman, Palm Beach County Subcommittee.

John is also a member of the Palm Beach County Bar Association (Member: North County Section), Palm Beach County Realtor/Attorney Committee (President, 1997-1998), CLE Real Estate Law Committee (past member); Associate Member of the Palm Beach Board of Realtors (Member: Education Committee), Association of Trial Lawyers of America, Florida Academy of Trial Lawyers and Palm Beach County Trial Lawyers Association; and the Northern Palm Beach and Palm Beach Chambers of Commerce. He is a Mortgage Agent with Attorneys' Mortgage Services and is a member of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society Board of Trustees (19 yrs - Chairman 1993-1994) and the Gulfstream Goodwill (1998-present, Chairman 2001-2003; Chairman-Elect, 2007). He is the author of Florida Bar CLE Guardianship Manual - Termination of Guardianships, and a frequent real estate lecturer.

John is Board Certified in Real Estate Law by the Florida Bar Board of Legal Specialization and Education, and is AV Rated by Martindale Hubbell.
